Main Line Dance Company offers a variety of dance classes catering to any dancer's skill and age level. Below are the current classes offered for the 2023-24 dance season. These classes are separated into five class levels — Advanced, Teen, Intermediate, Mini, and Itsy Bitsy Teeny. Tuition is collected in 10-week sessions. Classes will provide advanced study of contemporary jazz technique. Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 5 years of previous dancing experience. Advanced level classes are by invitation only. This class will focus on flexibility and strength training. Students will focus on multiple styles of choreography taught in a short time frame.
Black on Black
Advanced ballet students will study the Vaganova ballet method focusing on detailed Russian ballet technique. The Vaganova method is a precise technique where dancers are taught to be highly aware of every part of the body. Vaganova-trained dancers possess a thorough attention to detail; they are sophisticated dancers with unique elegance, cleanliness, and strength.Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 5 years of previous ballet training. Dancers will work through advanced choreography while infusing focused technique throughout all of their movement.
Black Leotard
Advanced ballet students will study the Vaganova ballet method focusing on detailed Russian ballet technique. The Vaganova method is a precise technique where dancers are taught to be highly aware of every part of the body. Vaganova-trained dancers possess a thorough attention to detail; they are sophisticated dancers with unique elegance, cleanliness, and strength.Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 4+ years of previous ballet training. Dancers will work through advanced choreography while infusing focused technique throughout all of their movement.
Black Leotard
Add this class to your weekly ballet schedule and focus on strengthening and conditioning exercises for pointe work. This class will focus on pointe work specifically including the studio of repertory ballet variations. Dancers in this class are required to attend an additional weekly ballet class while enrolled in this class. This class is open to Advanced and Teen level dancers who would like to focus on pointe work. (Remove quotation mark at end)
Black Leotard
Classes will provide the top level of lyrical dance technique instruction. Dancers will increase their focus on tricks and balance control. Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 4 years of lyrical dance training. Dancers in this level will have a concentration on performance artistry and improvisation technique.
Black on Black
Classes will provide instruction in various contemporary techniques including a focus on strength and control. Students will explore creative movement and improvisational skills. This class will focus on using movement across the floor and weekly combos to focus on the use of space and artistry.
Black on Black
Classes will provide focus on current hip hop choreography and rhythms. Dancers should have a minimum of 2 years of previous hip hop dancing experience. This class will focus on body isolation control and music study. Students will have a concentration in free style techniques and tricks.
Open
Classes will provide focus on conditioning and competition tricks. This class will focus on tricks, jumps and turns used with the competition dance team. Acceptance onto Teen or Senior Competition Team is required to attend this class.
Black on Black
Classes will provide continued study of contemporary jazz technique at the elite level. Dancers attending this class should have 4-6 years of previous dancing experience. This class will increase the study of technical movement, kicks, jumps, and turns. Students will increase their conditioning and flexibility level. This class will have a focus on weight training study to improve movement. Students will also focus on retaining and mastering choreography in a short time frame.
Black on Black

This class will focus on pointe work specifically including the studio of repertory ballet variations. Dancers in this class are required to attend an additional weekly ballet class while enrolled in this class. This class is open to Pre-Teen level dancers who would like to focus on pointe work.
Eggplant Leotard
Classes will provide an elite level of lyrical dance technique instruction. Dancers will increase their focus on tricks and balance control. Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 4 years of lyrical dance training. Dancers in this level will have a concentration on performance artistry and improvisation technique.
Black on Black
Classes will explore creative movement and improvisational skills. This class will focus on using movement across the floor and focus on use of space. Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 2 years of previous contemporary experience. Dancers in this level will have a high focus on self expression and artistry.
Black Leotard
Classes will provide focus on current hip hop choreography and rhythms. Dancers should have a minimum of 1 year previous hip hop dancing experience. This class will focus on body isolation control and music study. Students will have a concentration in freestyle techniques and tricks.
Open
Classes will provide focus on conditioning and competition tricks. This class will focus on tricks, jumps and turns used with the competition dance team. Acceptance onto Teen or Senior Competition Team is required to attend this class.

Pre-Teen ballet students will focus on bringing their technique to a new creative level of artistry. Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 4 years of previous ballet training and may have experience en pointe. Dancers are trained in the Vaganova method.

This class will focus on pointe work specifically including the studio of repertory ballet variations. Dancers in this class are required to attend an additional weekly ballet class while enrolled in this class. This class is open to Pre-Teen level dancers who would like to focus on pointe work. Pre-Pointe Assessment required.
Eggplant
Classes will provide instruction on lyrical dance technique. This class will begin to integrate tricks and balance control while continuing to focus on control and elevation. Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 3 years of previous lyrical dance training. Dancers in this level will have a high focus on self expression and artistry.
Black on Black
Classes will provide focus on current hip hop choreography and rhythms. Dancers should have a minimum of 1 year previous hip hop dancing experience. This class will focus on body isolation control and music study. Students will have a concentration in freestyle techniques and tricks.
Open

Purple
Classes will provide instruction on lyrical dance technique and acrobatic tricks. This class will continue to develop lyrical technique, explore the emotions of performance technique and also expand knowledge in acrobatics. Dancers in this level will have a high focus on turning technique as well as balance and acro mat work.
Black on Black
Classes will provide focus on current hip hop choreography and rhythms. Dancers should have a minimum of 2 years of previous hip hop dancing experience. This class will focus on body isolation control and music study. Students will have a concentration in free style techniques and tricks.
Open
Classes will provide instruction on contemporary jazz technique at the intermediate level. Dancers attending this class should have 2-3 years of previous dancing experience. Open
Mini level 2 ballet students will continue their barre work as they advance to center floor combinations. Dancers will continue to incorporate the Vaganova style while focusing on detailed footwork and positions.
Lavender
Mini dancers will continue to enhance their study of jazz and tap techniques while advancing to new jumps and turns. This class should include dancers with a minimum of 2 years dance experience and will focus on flexibility as well as strength. This class is a great class to take with Mini Level 1 ballet.
Black on Black
Classes will provide focus on current hip hop choreography and rhythms. Dancers should have a minimum of 1 year of previous hip hop dancing experience. This class will focus on body isolation control and music study. Students will have a concentration in free style techniques and tricks.
Open
Mini ballet students will graduate to one hand on the barre while enhancing their technique from Bitsy Ballerinas. Dancers will begin to incorporate the Vaganova style while focusing on detailed footwork and positions. Dancers attending this class should have a minimum of 1 year of previous ballet training.
Lavender
Mini dancers will continue to enhance their study of jazz and tap techniques while advancing to new jumps and turns. This class should include dancers with a minimum of 1+ years dance experience and will focus on flexibility as well as strength. This class is a great class to take with Mini Level 1 ballet.
Black on Black
Watch you little ballerina sparkle in the exciting world of ballet! Our Bitsy Ballerinas will study the basics to get them started on the path to success. Dancers will enjoy stories, imagination, and activities that introduce them to basic ballet technique.
Light Pink
Bop your way to the top with this new journey into the world of Jazz and Tap. Dancers will focus on rhythm and musicality in this fun class filled with jump, skips, hops, turns, and bopping to current kids music hits.
Black on Black
Introduce your teeny ballerina to the wonderful world of dance! Our new ballerinas will be welcomed to the purple palace with sparkle as they learn to explore the beginning basics of ballet while incorporating imagination and story telling through movement. Join us on an adventure as we dance through stories of fairytales and pixie dust while making new friends along the way!
Light Pink
